Clear the area by removing any obstructions like the heater shield. The manifold must be installed in a specific way; watch YouTube videos for guidance. Rotate the manifold to the right side of the engine and adjust it until it fits. Install all bolts loosely first, then tighten them together. The exhaust pipe springs were challenging to compress. I used safety wire to compress them and allow installation. There might be a more efficient method or tool available. A more user-friendly design would be beneficial. Luckily, the technician was able to find suitable replacements or reuse the old parts. However, the nuts were completely unusable, and the threaded studs were too long and had no threads in the middle, making it impossible to secure the manifold. Despite having a positive experience with a previous purchase, this one was a major disappointment. After only a month of use, it became so clogged that the car struggled to drive and even damaged two gaskets.
Upon inspection, I found that the internal components had melted and turned into a thick, gooey substance. This forced me to use it solely as an exhaust manifold, as my old one was already cracked and needed replacement.
I'm unsure if I received a faulty product or if it wasn't designed to handle the stress of high-performance driving. Regardless, I learned a valuable lesson and would caution others to be wary of potential issues when purchasing aftermarket catalytic converters.Was this review helpful? -
